9-6 and Capone's...

Ok, did anyone know that in Taiwan ppl work 9-6?! When I saw
my friends working until 6, I just thought they must really
like their job...but apparently here the normal working hours
is 9-6, and some places you have to work everyother Saturday
as well half the day. Thats pretty crazy, but explains why
rush hour here is a bit later than in Toronto. It also
explains why Asia is so much more productive, so many ppl
working an extra hour of the day, multiply by all the ppl here
and you have a LOT of productivity.

I went to this fancy restaurant called Capone's, its right
beside the MRT subway station and was really nice. The food
was very tasty (although it did not taste anything like what
it was suppose to be), and the decor was great. Basically it
is an American joint, complete with tons of Gangster posters
and brick walls, an area with live music and really beautiful
lighting. The place is kind of expensive ($20/person) and the
food doesn't taste like it should, for example the Tiramisu
doesnt look or taste like Tiramisu (basically whats served is
a white cake drenched in a rich cream sauce and some coffee
shavings on top, how it resembles Tiramisu? no clue...). Yet,
i find that its very common here, no matter how good the
restaurant is, the food may look or simulate international
cuisine, but it really can't match Toronto's restuarants,
although I admit the chinese food here is fabulous :) That
restaurant I guess was really high end though, I took 1-2 pics
of the food though, once I get the camera xD reader I will
update my gallery.

I went to the Nat. Palace Museum again, and this time took
tons of pics :) I will also try to update/upload those ASAP
on the website. Teaching is keeping me really really busy, so
won't have much time to keep posting, barely spend any time at
home, basically just for sleeping :) With teaching english and learning chinese, basically no time to spend @ home...

Did I mention its still very hot here? Not that the bugs seem
to mind, they luv the heat :'( My computer is the exact
opposite though, it crashes and overheats quite a bit when
playing games... I will upgrade the cooling system, get some
memory heatsinks for my video card, Doom3 is taxing my video
card like mad, wow what a great game, ya another reason why I haven't been getting much sleep lately. =)
