August almost over...

August has been a very hot month to say the least. Yet, when I went out last night after the rain, it was quite nice, with a cool breeze. Strangely, my street actually smelled nice for once, as usually it smells like a public bathroom, although to be fair all of Taipei smells like that :) MY street smells nice though because of these two trees that are blooming flowers, helps make the place smell better I guess.

Not much else to report, not learning much in my Mandarin lessons, I keep getting the tones wrong...and am shocked by how much fruits cost here, its odd considering its a tropical country how much fruit and fruit juices cost. You can go to the store and actually buy fruit in these gift boxes, because they cost so much, people can give each other boxes of fruit. I would imagine it odd to wrap a box of fruit to give to someone else for their birthday LOL.

Tomorrow is Chinese Valentine's Day, here they have it twice a year, the Western Feb. 14th date and another one for tomorrow (Sunday) August 22.
