The high cost of deodorant (economic and social implications)
I haven't written for awhile, as I have been quite busy with things. My computer broke due to the severe TW heat and we had another heavy rain storm that flooded some areas. So, what has prompted me to write again? I felt a commentary was needed of the smelly ppl. Yes, the smelly ppl. On buses and MRT subways, there are ppl that smell quite bad. They don't look odd, just regular office employees or blue collar workers, but they do not use deodorant and smell like sweat! :( Obviously not all chinese ppl smell like this, some smell great :) but based on my experience you will encounter this issue almost daily.
Another annoying issue, that gets compounded by the first is ppl on the subway or buses that push against you. The buses and subways are filled to well past their recommended capacity, and ppl are not just touching you, but actually pressing against you with 10N of force. This basically makes you feel as if you need another shower once you get to work or whatever destination you were heading for. I actually saw it happen today, ppl literally shoving each other to get into the MRT subway car, it was unbelievable how tightly they were all packed inside.
