TW in January

Haven't written for awhile, but there's been nothing new to report one. This last weekend was interesting however. I went to the computer market with a friend to get some earphones and my friend ordered some food from a hot dog vendor. The cops were walking down the street ticketing the illegal street vendors, and our hot dog vendor started running with her vending machine across the road through oncoming traffic. A muffin vendor next to her unfortunately had a delayed reaction. Instead of running with his vending machine instantly, he spent precious minutes scanning his surroundings for the police. He didn't see them in time and they caught him and gave him a $50 fine, that 120 cupcakes he will have to sell to recover that cost :( (40 cents a cupcake) Anyways, since my friend really wanted the hotdog sausages, we had to run onto the road and follow the hotdog vendor. The vendor cooked the sausage and the transaction was completed on the road with car whizzing by on the left and right, that was pure jokez. The police were watching from the sidewalk, but they were too lazy to cross the street. They had already got the muffin man, who had made the mistake of trying to escape along the sidewalk, which the police were able to easily apprehend him, as its easy to outwalk someone who is lugging a giant vending machine the size of a hot dog stand. I felt sad for him, and was gonna buy some muffins from him, but found another muffin man who had even tastier muffins.

On an unrelated note, when I was walking by the Hyatt Hotel in Taipei, there was some beautiful cars parked there. The most notable being a Ferrari, a very exotic and recent model too, not some ancient model. I was like woa!! Generally most cars in Taipei are not even 2-door let alone sports coupes or convertibles. The air quality is horrendous and parking expensive. Most people own only sedans, common to see high-end Lexus, Mercedes, Audi sedans, but rarely a sports coupe or convertible. Definitely different, nothing compared to the variety of cars seen in Toronto.

One thing that has got me really annoyed lately, is around rush hour, when I try to get to the subway station, the road leading there gets shut down for 15 mins everyday. Several trains pass by, forcing the road closed severely frustrating the road users. I think the government should build a bridge for the road so that the trains don't block the path EVERY day. Its ridiculous, and if anyone in the Taipei government could read Chinese I would totally send them a letter :P

The weather here has been great in the winter, not too cold at all. It varies between 15-22 degrees, although sometimes it has dropped to 10 degrees. I didn't bring any full-sleeve or winter clothes, but even if I had, I would've rarely used them. Chinese New YEar's will begin soon, in 2 weeks, that should be fun. Kind of like the X-mas or New Year's celebration back home.

Looking back on it , the x-mas and new yr's celeb here was really lame.
