Crazy TW drivers and horrible rainy season is here :(

In case anyone was worried, YES ! I am still alive!!

Yesterday when crossing an intersection, a parked car started moving forward, so trying to walk around it, I walked around the back of it. Than suddenly it braked, shifted in reverse and accelerated extremely quickly, being only a foot away from it I quickly jumped onto the sidewalk. Amazing, I've been here more than a year and still haven't been able to adjust to the traffic here. Since it was a minivan, it had the tall vertyical lights mounted on each side of its rear, and if it hand't been for those white rear lights giving me some advanced notice, I would've had my shoulder dislocated or broken from the impact.

Scary stuff....

Today, I got totally drenched from the rain, not a drop on the ground when I went out for lunch, 30 mins later its pouring outside, the streets are FLOODED and I;m soaked. I go home and change clothes, even with 2 umbrellas I;m unable to get to work. So I wait for the raining to stop and than change clothes AGAIN and go back to work. I hate developing countries, I wish they would really fix their crummy infrastructure, in 30 mins of rain (maybe 300mL rainfall) the streets can get flooded extremely quickly. Being a technology park, you would think they would have accounted for the rainfall, considering it happens every yr for the last thousand years and the park was only built a few years ago.

Alas, I digress, there are some good things here. Like my dental surgery last week was FREE, on the other hand it was extremely painful, I lost one of my wisdom teeth, but according to the dentist I needed to :(

It still feels sore in the back, and I need the stitches removed this upcoming weekend but hopefully everything else will be ok...
